This is a small batch collaboration with Foundry Coffee Roasters, whose roastery, and coffee bar are based at Cutlery Works on Neepsend Lane, Sheffield.
The Foundry team have been obsessing over coffee since they started up in 2012, and pride themselves on importing, and roasting some of the most amazing single origin coffee beans from around the world.
After trial distilling half a dozen bean varietals, over a couple of months earlier this year, we finally picked a coffee from Yirgacheffe in Ethiopia, from the 2020 harvest.
Directly after the roasting process, we hand grind each batch of beans to a uniform particle size, before carefully cold distilling them. The resulting clear liquid is an intense, and funky flavour.
We like our liqueurs to be on the stronger side (alcohol acts as a vehicle for flavour), and this is no exception, weighing in at 27% a.b.v.
